Willimena Ball Cotton, 95, of Tylertown, died April 19, 2020, at Comfort Care Nursing Center in Laurel.
Born Aug. 23, 1924, in Tylertown, she was the daughter of the late Lattimore Ball and Ruby Dillon Ball.
She was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, growing flowers, and gardening. Whenever her children would come home she always made their favorite dish.
She was a lifelong member of Dillon Hill COGIC where she served as church mother. She enjoyed going to church services and attended regularly until her health began to fail her.
She was married to Bennie Cotton for 61 years and to this union eight children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Vivian and Jeanette (Cotton) Burse; five brothers, Herman, Linzie, Dolve, Kermit, and Wilmer Ball; two sisters, Lattiemae Ball and Genita (Ball) Brumfield.
Survivors are three daughters, Lynda (Rev. Bufus) Ellis in Heidelberg, Priscilla (Sam) Taylor of Raymond, and Lorraine (aka “Mary”) Green of Port Orange, FL; three sons, Benjamin Cotton of Kenner, LA, Bennie (Viola) Cotton of Tylertown, and Vernon (Patrice) Cotton of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Odessa Young, Ella Swail, Dessie Herring, and Bobbie Smith; one brother-in-law, Supt. Gene Smith; 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
A graveside service was April 23, 2020, at Dillon Hill Church of God In Christ Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Bufus Ellis officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Benjamin Cotton, Vernon Cotton, Byron Lucas, Bennie Cotton, Alvin Ball and Kevin Ellis.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
