A funeral service for Neal Ward, 74, of Tylertown, was April 30, 2020, at Boyd Cemetery in Salem with Rev. Mark Wicker officiating.
Ward died at his residence in Tylertown April 28, 2020. He was born Dec. 21, 1945, in Tylertown to the late Gladys and Edward Ward. He is also preceded in death by his brothers James Ward, Jerry Ward, Eddie Ward, and George Ward; and sisters Fay Buchannan, Annie King, Wilma Breland, and Evelyn McCleoud.
Ward was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was a hard-working man who enjoyed life. Spending time at the lake and with his grandson Tripp were two of his favorite pastimes. It didn’t matter if you were family or friend he was always there with a helping hand.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Bernita Ward; sons Chad Ward and Cody Ward; grandson Tripp Ward; sister June Bourque.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital be made in Ward’s memory.
Pallbearers were Chad Ward, Cody Ward, Adam Ward, Billy Ward, Brent Bourque, Andy Elkins, and Tripp Ward.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Brumfield, Tommy White, Larry Adams, Ernest Pittman, Nelson McKenzie, Ralph Ward, Elbert Rushing, Charles Dillon, and Ray Ferguson.
