Bonita Yvonne Cook Williams, 83, of McComb, died May 27, 2020, at her residence in McComb.
Born Dec. 16, 1936, in Pike County, she was the daughter of the late George Cook, Sr, and Annie Lee Weatherspoon Cook. Yvonne was married to Claude Williams, Jr.
She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church where she was a youth Sunday School teacher, president of the pastor aide club and a member of the women’s missionary society. She was a member in the adult choir and participated every Sunday until her health failed. She was involved in clubs such as good samaritan club and farmers union.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Jacqueline Flison; three brothers, George W Cook, Phillip Carr and James Weatherspoon.
Survivors are her husband Claude Williams Jr.; two sisters Willie Myrtle Bennett and Johnnie Forte’; four daughters, Frankie (Sylvester) Memphis, TN; Janice (Walter) McComb; Gay (Denver) Hattiesburg; Michael Torrence, California; and Lisa, McComb; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
A private graveside service was May 30, 2020, with Rev. R. T. McGowan rendering the eulogy, interment was in the St. James MB Church Cemetery.
