Joe Nell Buckhanan, 65, of Shreveport, died June 14, 2020, at LSU Health Medical Center in Shreveport.
Born Nov. 12, 1954, in Tylertown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Buckhanan and Eugene Commodore.
She attended Vernon Community School in Mt. Hermon. Later in life she joined Mt. Canaan Baptist Church in Shreveport where she started her relationship with Christ. She was a member until her health failed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Cookie Lee Buckhanan.
Survivors are a companion, Lee Morgan Taylor; one son, Earl Buckhanan (Sharon) of Jackson; two daughters, Tammy Buckhanan Jackson (Tim) of Shreveport, April Buckhana Limbrick (Johnny) of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; 11 siblings, Betty Raiford of Sandy Hook, Sharon Blackburn of Kentwood, Louella Fortenberry of Sandy Hook, Patricia Magee of Kentwood, Lurraine Robinson of Kentwood, Dorothy Buchanan of Baton Rouge, Larry Buckhanan of Hammond, Robin Taylor, Stafford Buckhanan, Karen Buckhanan and Angelia Gordon, all of Kentwood.
A graveside service was June 20, 2020, at New Bethel UMC Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Albert Buckhanan, Card Buckhanan, Ricky Buckhanan, Shoun Buckhanan, Julius Blackburn, Eric Blackburn and Max Buckhanan.
Honorary pallbearers were Earl Buckhanan, Johntavious Johnson, David Ashley, Kevin Buchnanan, Deaundrick Buckhanan and Stafford Buckhanan
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
